Default Scientologists not amused by Cruise spoof

LOL

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/9546089/

Quote:
Looks like the Church of Scientology is not amused by a Web site spoofing it and Tom Cruise.

ScienTOMogy.info has received cease and desist letters from the church, threatening to sue the New Zealand-based Web site for copyright infringement, according to various sources.

“You are hereby on notice that the registration and use of this domain name in this fashion has caused your name to be falsely associated with our client’s registered mark, SCIENTOLOGY,” notes a legal letter posted online. “The fact that you have changed one letter (“m” instead of “l”) does not protect you from trademark infringement.”

The site — which mercilessly ridicules Cruise, his engagement, and his devotion to the controversial religion — has posted a disclaimer of sorts:

“YOU MUST UNDERSTAND AND AGREE TO THE FOLLOWING BEFORE CONTINUING: Obviously www.scienTOMogy.info has ABSOLUTELY NO connection whatsoever with the Church of Scientology, it’s [sic] affiliated organizations or, needless-to-say, Tom Cruise. It is designed for commentary and criticism within the limits of Free Speech. All content should be treated as opinion and all trademarks/copyrighted material herein are owned by their respective trademark owners. The Scientology site is here. Thank you. You may continue…"

YOu know, after re-watching the Oprah thing I have to wonder if any of the audience members who were there have actually said anything about that day? I haven't read or heard anything and it makes me wonder if they weren't all plants (operating thetan plants, of course) because some of those women were pushing 40 or 50 and were screaming like they were school girls at a Beatles concert.

Good point, Tom's previous visits on Oprah have all mostly been pretty tame in comparison. Lets face it the guy's not exactly the pin-up boy he once was. All those hysterical Tomfreaks are obviously part of the 'coven'.

The scientologists can lick it, as far as I'm concerned.

They have a lot to answer for. Like what?

Like the mysterious death of Lisa McPherson, for starters.

Watched the Oprah clip.

The whole thing looked staged. Especially the audience.

Oh, I forgot to mention.

Why are the stars of Scientology so loyal...? Why don't they
openly declare it to be a sham?

Because the Church knows their dirt, that's why.

When you join the Church, they ask you to confess your sins--
on paper. You have to write out all the things you wish to be
purified of, anything you're ashamed of...and then you sign it.
It now becomes evidence against you.

...and if you quit the Church and badmouth them, they have a signed
confession of your sins---drug abuse, prostitution, homosexuality,
your skinhead gang involvement from your youth, your percodan
addiction, your affair with your students...etc. etc.

(How do I know? Because in one magazine article from an ex-Scientologist,
he began by confessing that he'd done drugs, sold drugs and once
visited a prostitute. He then wrote that he was saving the church
the effort of blabbing all this because that was a typical tactic--
and everything you write on that paper is true at the time.)

If there's a disclaimer, then i doubt there's much they can do.
