Rod Stewart's wife to have water birth
Quote:
British rocker ROD STEWART's pregnant fiancee PENNY LANCASTER is planning a water birth for her unborn baby.
Stewart and leggy Lancaster are expecting to welcome their first child into the world in December (05), and they both plan to get into a large tub together when the baby arrives.
Stewart says, "She's gonna have a water birth, which is in a great big tub. The idea behind this is the baby's in water for so long it's less terrible for the baby if it comes out in water.
"And I have to get in there with her - that's gonna be the funny thing - and hold her from behind.
"She may change her mind, 'cause it must be a scary thing to go through, having a baby."

lol yea they can talk. i unfortunatly made the choice to sit down and watch an episode of Baby Story on TLC not too long ago and the lady was having a water birth....and believe me she talked. ALOT. somewhere along the lines of ( and i'm being totally serious ) after looking down when the baby's head was crowning, " Oh my God!!! What the F*** is that?!?! What IS it?! Get it out of meee!! ". it was actually pretty funny.

I researched water births for about 5 minutes a few months ago. People who have had them supposedly love them, BUT I read that 1- if the tub has jets, bacteria can brew in those jets and cause infections and 2- there have been some serious complications resulting from it. The midwife/OB is also supposed to have a fishnet nearby to scoop out any gross things that come out when you are giving birth (feces, random chunks of bloody stuff coming out of you.) I decided it was not for me. To each his/her own!
