Quote:
February 23, 2006 -- PEOPLE are still talking about how bad Whitney Houston was performing at the Olympics in Turin. "Nowhere close to a gold-medal performance, nor even a bronze contender," a witness told Canadian columnist Shinan Govani. Houston coughed, sniffled and talked her way through one song and told the crowd: "Why did they choose to do this outdoors? I don't sing in the cold. It makes my voice funny." Her last number, "I Will Always Love You," quickly became "her all-time low moment," the witness reports. Unable to reach the high notes, "Whitney smiled, waved and winked to the fans. Karaoke drag queens can belt it out better."

Ah, Whitney, sniffing and coughing? Lay off the marching powder, darling.

Shit! My computer is not up to speed today and I can't get the clip to work. How bad was it, exactly?

Re: Whitney's performance at Olympics slammed again.
to me it sounded like she had to stop and take a breath after every few words. her voice cracked a few times....not good. but i was getting pissed off b/c there's some guy standing very near the recording device who is trying to sing along and totally drowns out Whitney.

Re: Whitney's performance at Olympics slammed again.
It starts off not all that bad, except for the fact that indeed she's already out of breath before even "singing" her first words. I was actually amazed she even managed to get out that voice, considering how hoarse she sounds when she speaks. But then, as the song dragged on, what was left of her old voice soon fully disappeared and became one hoarse, cracked forced screaming match to try to reach some of the old grandeur. How can someone waste such a gift? What a public humiliation.

It sounded like she was hyperventilating all through it, and then the last notes sounded like she had bronchitis or something. It was awful.

She sounds so out of breath. Give me an oxygen mask STAT I feel like Im out of breath just listening to her.
Its really a sad thing, saw her in concert in 1988/89 and she had a amazing voice even though she carried out a note for like 2 minutes
