Luciano Pavarotti made honorary Bosnian citizen

Opera supremo LUCIANO PAVAROTTI will be made an honorary Bosnian citizen in recognition of his support during Bosnia's war with Serbia in the 1990s.

The 70-year-old, who will officially become a Bosnian when he performs a concert in Sarajevo in April (05), set up the Pavarotti Music Centre in the city of Mostar to provide music therapy for children traumatised by the war.

Sarajevo's deputy mayor JOSIP JURISIC says, "During the war he organised humanitarian concerts... and established a music academy in Mostar."
