Chris Martin says Coldplay to take a break

COLDPLAY frontman CHRIS MARTIN hinted the group is to step out of the limelight for a few years, over fears the media and public will get sick of them.

After a best-selling album X&Y, worldwide tour and winning two Brit Awards at the London ceremony last night (15FEB06), the English band are ready for a break.

Accepting the British Album gong on Wednesday, Martin said, "People are fed up with us and so are we. You won't see us at one of these for many, many years. We mean it."

Modest Martin added, "It's hard for us sometimes because we're English and we don't get to admit that we are great. So tonight we'd like to agree with you for giving us this award.

I hate to admit this, but I actually like kind of like Coldplay. But Chris Martin loses his credibility for me by choosing to be married to the preachy, loose-jawed Gwyneth. Apparently he claims if he weren't married to her he would be gay. I would like him better if he were gay.

I like Coldplay. Why shouldn't they take a break? X&Y came out three years after A Rush of Blood to the Head. I don't like it when groups put something out every year, it usually sucks.

EXACTLY Grimmy. I think Coldplay is so overrated. I'm happy to see them going far, far away...that is, until Cucumber is born.

Rumours that double Brit Award-winners COLDPLAY are to split have been fuelled by a series of statements released by the band's record label.

Parlophone initially denied reports, stating: "Coldplay are categorically not splitting up.

"They are on the road until July, when their 16 month X+Y World Tour ends in Japan. They will then be having a well deserved rest before working on their fourth album."

But the label has since mysteriously amended the tract, substituting it for a vaguer dismissal of an imminent breakup.

The new statement reads: "Coldplay are not quitting. They are on the road until July, when their 16 month X+Y World Tour ends in Japan. They will then continue working on new material."

I used to like them. I have their first 2 albums bu all their songs song the same. I heard their new stuff adn I thought it was off of their last album. I I didn't botehr gettign the new one. THey really need to ake some risks msucially. All of their songs sound the same.

^^ I actually used to quite like their old stuff, was the album called parachute or something? The new stuff is truly awful. He's permanantly whining. It's not the first time I have said it but I think he sounds like a prepubescent choir boy. I wish his balls would drop.
