HOLLYWOOD mega-star Tom Cruise will jet in to Sydney today without his pregnant fiancee Katie Holmes.
While Cruise's attendance at Kerry Packer's state memorial service tomorrow will spark a media frenzy, his movie star bride-to-be has decided she doesn't want to be a part of it, cancelling her trip to Sydney at the last minute.
Despite travel plans and accommodation arrangements being scheduled for both Cruise and Holmes, the
War of the Worlds star and close friend of James Packer will stay at the Four Seasons Hotel wihout his 27-year-old fiancee during his brief Sydney sojourn.
Confidential understands the Hollywood heavyweight will be accompanied by a spiritual adviser from the Church of Scientology.
While a US magazine yesterday reported Cruise and Holmes had split and called off their wedding, a publicist for the couple said the story was "100 per cent false".
Given she is seven months pregnant, it is thought Holmes has been advised not to endure the flight from Los Angeles to Sydney.
Her beau is expected to spend time on the Packer pleasure cruiser, the Arctic P, before he flies out of Sydney on Sunday. Cruise will top a group of A-listers - which will also include Russell Crowe and Shane Warne, who have been invited to attend a private gathering at the Packer's Bellevue Hill compound after the service
Maybe Katie took our advise and decided not to fly so far when she is so pregnant....
