Angelina Jolie's tattoo cover-up

They include a 12-inch tiger on her back and the words "quod me nutrit me destruit" on her stomach - Latin for "what nourishes me destroys me".
But it takes so long to cover them that Angelina has had to take steps to speed up the process.

A source is quoted in Britain's Daily Star newspaper as saying: "It's such a ritual before some scenes that Angelina now has to bring her own people in to do it."

Strange that actors who make a living of exposing their skin feel the need to cover it with tattoes. They know they'll have to take hours to cover them before every take..

It doesn't sound like she's that upset about it. Her tattoos are covered or digitized out in her movies - I saw a clip of her and Antonio's sex scene where they're both totally naked and rolling around - Original Sin. You couldn't see a single tattoo. I think that both she and the filmmakers are well aware of her tattoos and the need to cover them.

As for getting a tattoo when you know that you'd need to cover it, people do it all the time. I have a tattoo on my shoulder blade. It's only noticeable if I'm naked, wearing spaghetti straps, or wearing a halter. That was my choice. Some people have asked why I got one if I keep it covered. *I* know it's there, and I consider it like a permanent adornment.

A friend of mine's an elementary schoolteacher. She has 3 or 4 tattoos, I can't recall. Hers are on her ankle, her shoulder, and her butt. For most schools she's worked at, she's had to keep them covered, which she would do by wearing socks or tights on her legs, for example. She has never complained about it because she knew she'd have to keep them covered at work.

It's easy to keep them covered in normal jobs, but actors must by definition expose themselves and slip in their character's skin...Tattoes defeat this purpose in a way

It does, but if there was a serious problem with it, the actors wouldn't get jobs.

I think that tattoo was a temp one for from Dusk To Dawn.

My hubby wants that tattoo...I did like it, although the movie was pretty cheesy!!

I'm guessing that the real reason we bash Maniston, Jolie, Maggie Gylyuilnelehall,
Scarlett Joh etc. is because, by taking the leap onto the world stage,
they expect us to worship them at the box office or the record
store, and this board is our way of saying they don't deserve it,
and should really consider getting a job at a pet store or something.
