I haven't thought about that in forever.

I always liked Picadilly better than Morrisson's for some reason.

Anyone remember Furr's Cafeteria out on the West Coast? I remember a lot of them went out of business when Hometown/Old Country Buffet started opening.

Another vote for Stuckey's. They're even rare here in the South nowadays.

The only cafeterias I remember around here were Horn and Hardart. They have been gone for years though.

I also miss Ground Round. Yeah it was just another so-so chain, but I really liked their cheap and huge appetizer nachos-enough on one plate for two people two eat as a meal-and pretty good too.

Yeah, too bad they tore down the old restaurants and the whirling satellites. I wish they had the sense to preserves at least a few of the old structures just for historical purposes. Back in the 60's they had alot of 'Space Age' stuff that was unique for the time.

^Hahaha I had my 8th birthday at the Ground Round! Apparently it was my favorite place. The peanuts and popcorn probably lured me.

I still miss Chi-Chi's! Their salsa was/is the best...

Oh, we used to go to Picadilly when I lived in Miami. We used to go to Horn and Horn when I lived in Baltimore.

^ I miss Chi-Chi's. One Hepitis A outbreak and then boom, there they are. . . out of business.
They did have great chips and salsa. But they also had fried ice cream, a dessert I found fascinating as a kid.

    I miss Chi-Chi's too.

We would take my grandmother to Picadilly on many a Sunday afternoon after church. She recently passed away, so it's kind of hard for me to eat there now, because I remember going there so much.

I miss Shakey's Pizza. Also Hot Shoppes. They had the best brunch. The crepes were to die for. We also had a chain of Geno's Burgers and I really, really miss Roy Rogers. They are still around but very, very hard to find.

Lum's for hot dogs. They were in South Florida.
