I know Florida gets picked on a lot, but if I could walk out the door and see the ocean and get fresh seafood, I would be a pretty happy person. I've never even been fishing and I would love to do that.

It really is quite awesome to get your own seafood, and I am very lucky to have the bay on one side of the street and the ocean on the other. All those haters can keep picking on Florida, but I love it!

I did the crab thing when I was a kid at the house of a friend who lived in Rehoboth Beach, MD. We would take a chicken drumstick, and dangle it in the water while crabs sidled on by. If one got too firm a grip on the drumstick, we would hoist him up, and catch him in a net on a pole. I'm sure there were more effective ways of going about it.

We have friends that have stonecrab traps that you put bait in and they go in and get trapped inside. They check them everyday. I like to go out in the boat at night on the bay and put a light out and you can see the blue crabs swimming on the surface and you just grab the net and catch them.

    LMFAO!

One of my favorite things growing up was crabbing and clamming on the Long Island Sound. We would also fish for fluke, flounder, snappers. We'd eat muscles too.

I'd think I'd love it, too. I'd be so happy down there with the weather, the seafood, and the ocean. I don't mind dodging the crazies for that.

I had a friend that would come to my house with sea bass, which I'd cook & frezze the rest of the fresh fish. It was a good exchange.
