    Thanks, A*O.

When someone said theirs was 105-110/65-70, I figured I must be on the verge of a stroke. My dad has been on medication for high bp for as long as I can remember, so it wouldn't have surprised me if mine were too high.

^^that was me. It tends to run at the lower end at times and yesterday as I posted it was 120 over 78 which is normal(I always heard 120 over 75-80 was normal) I tend to think genetics has alot to do with it since I tend to eat all the wrong foods and consume alot of salt. I don't know what other salt risks there might be though..only know about the BP thing.

Hypertension can run in families - like mine for instance Additional risks are being overweight, stress, too much salt, too much alcohol etc. Basically an unhealthy lifestyle. But some people are unlucky and even if they live like saints they still have it. You can take meds to keep it under control so provided you have it checked regularly it should not be a problem. Untreated hypertension can cause stroke, heart problems, kidney problems, etc so it's important to have checkups.

One day a few weeks ago I woke up and felt dizzy, I wasn't able do eat any breakfast or do anything, I was so weak, so I took my BP, it was 107/65... waaaay too low for me to feel ok. Had to go straight back to bed for a couple of hours
    I normally have 120-65.

I'm one of those salt addicts. At home I load everything with season salt. At restaurants regular salt. I dread the day if something happens and I need to watch my salt intake. I just need loads of salt. Actually I'm the same way with butter, mayo, and sour cream. The more the better. However I don't like really sweet stuff. I hate deserts that are to rich.

I actually rarely salt anything- I really like black pepper, and that goes on lots of things. I have to have salted frenchfries...umm, that's about it. I think that's why I have a sensitivity to anything too salty. If I buy a pretzel from a vendor, I scrape all of the salt off. the RESIDUE that's left is plenty!!!
