Applewood smoked gouda is pretty amazing, too.

I have just recently been introduced to camembert and I love it also. But I like it best with wafer thin crackers and semi dried tomatos.

It depends. Haloumi is great on the barbecue or fried with chillies, for cheese on toast it has to be a really strong cheddar that makes the roof of your mouth sting, or on a cheese board after a nice meal a current favourite is St Marcellin (French, runny, a bit smelly), or maybe Roquefort (but I can only eat blue cheese after a few drinks for some reason).
A big boy did it and ran away.

Sharp cheddar and I'm pulling my hair out since we don't have it here in Brazil. The last time I found it was an English import, back in '96. That's one of the things I most miss about the US, lol.

I love feta cheese. Especially in an omlette with tomatoes, spinach and kalamata olives.

I know what you're talking about! One of my fave's too.

I also like feta, mozzarella and Old Amsterdam (this is a brand).

Wow, I’m surprised that I have found a forum that talks about cheese…

My absolute all time favourite cheese just has to be Gorgonzola. I am not typically a fan of blue cheese but there is just something about the Gorgonzola penicillin mould that provides an excellent contrast to the rich, creamy cheese. I prefer this cheese at it’s prime so that it is not too mild nor too sharp.

I do love my Feta Cheese, during my second pregnancy i couldnt get enough of it, and strangely now i still love it, even though i probably ate enough to feed a large country in those few months!

I love to have it with a nice tasty rocket leaf salad with some lemon and black pepper dressings, especially during the summer months.

I love all cheese...cottage cheese, creamcheese, all cheeses and I eat it a lot with lots of dishes...meats, salads, soups, vegetables, etc.. I grew up on Spanish and Mexican cheeses so those are my favorite. The only cheese I really hate is Feta. It stinks and I never acquired a taste for it. Here are two of my favorites:

    QUESO PANELA

The most popular fresh cheeses in Mexico, this cheese is mild, white and crumbly. Like Queso Blanco, it will not run when heated. It will get soft and creamy, but will not lose its shape. The cheese is used in Mexico for many cooked dishes, and is commonly crumbled over salads, tacos, chili and burritos.

    QUESO OAXACA (wuh-HAH-kuh)

Oaxaca cheese is a white, semi-hard cheese of Mexican orgian, similar to un-aged Monterey jack. It is a mild, firm, slightly tangy cheese similar in texture to mozzarella. Typically braided and shaped into a ball. It 'strings" like mozzarella when heated and can be used in quesadillas and other cooked dishes.Due to its excellent melting qualities it is frequently used as the base for queso blanco (literally "white cheese"). It is named after the state of Oaxaca, where it was first made. The production process is complicated and involves stretching the cheese into long ribbons and rolling it up like a ball of yarn. It is also known as quesillo, thread cheese when shaped like a ball, and asadero cheese when shaped like a brick. It is used in typical cuisine, such as in quesadillas.

Looks like a yellow steaming pile of fresh turds by the way it's circled around..

Favorite cheese?? I still love the old fashioned cheddar sold in huge rounds from Wisconsin called Daisy Cheddar.

But really, my favorite cheese happens to be whatever kind I get my hands on when I open the fridge. So many different great kinds of cheese I've yet to find one I didn't like except maybe American cheese or Velveeta. But those aren't really cheese, more cheese byproducts.

I love cheese but never have any idea where to start trying new kinds.

Swiss is probably my favorite, but now I have some other things to try.
Don't worry about what other people think. They don't do it very often.
