We had cheese and French bread. I went to Chatsworth http://www.chatsworth.org/ (it was Pemberley in the recent film of Pride and Prejudice) today with my mum to look at the sculpture exhibition in the gardens, which was fantastic, and then we called in to the farm shop. I got venison to casserole tomorrow, and loads of different cheeses for tonight. Oh, and a proper Bakewell pudding. Fattening but very nice.
A big boy did it and ran away.

Not sure about the dinner, but the dessert will be pumpkin souffle I don't like sweets very much, but this place is great and I love this souffle. I'll probably get salad or something for my dinner.

Make that hubby cook for you, PB! Or would it even be edible?

How're you feeling, by the way?

A bit better, thanks, but still crappy on the whole.

Hubby's idea of cooking is microwaving or opening a can.

Yeah, I don't have good luck with that, either. Seems every man I've ever dated thought they'd done some culinary magic scrambling eggs or cooking a hotdog.

And I dated one that would cook both for the same meal. . .

I'm going out drinking tonight so some nice, filling, carb-rich, low cal oatmeal to soak up the alcohol.

The BF can cook, but only campfire cooking. I'm all set if we go camping. He makes REALLY good chili from scratch too, he's been using venison lately b/c it's leaner than beef and it's been really tasty.

We are eating the most amazingly weird combinations of stuff at the moment because the kitchen is being remodelled next week (standby for several RANTS about fucking builders and tradies) and we are trying to empty the pantry and the fridge/freezer. Tonight it's home-made taramasalata, hummous and spare ribs with bagels. Don't ask.

^^LOL, been there, done that. Tonight I'm making asparagus, twice-baked potatoes (low cal version), crab cakes from our fab fish market, and salad. If I'm feeling ambitious, I might also make a fresh fruit salad. I am on a diet so everybody must suffer. *evil grin*

my friends and i decided to have a decadent dinner night. instead of getting ripped off at a restaurant where they charge you an arm and a leg for a few shavings on top of your food, we bought two whole white truffles and we put them on everything in our dinner - soft-boiled eggs and mâche salad and asparagus as a starter, and on some wonderful fresh pasta. and truffled brie cheese after that. and many bottles of wine. definitely not something you do every day but damn it was worth it.

Grilled Scallops, salad with artichoke hearts and lots of veggies, some pasta with garlic, and grilled asparagus spears.
My most favoritist meal except for the pasta, my husbands request.

I still have the beef stew left over from last night but I have to cook rest of the defrosted beef...so I'm gonna make a ginger beef stir fry with some bean spouts, scallions, onions. I want to add more veggies cuz I don't like meat all that much, maybe carrots, orange pepper and some cabbage.

I also want to make a salad but I ran out of lettuce and anything leafy.
And I think I'll make some miso soup, mmm good! Plus, some steamed rice (I love Jasmine rice, so fragrant).

If you think it's crazy, you ain't seen a thing. Just wait until we're goin down in flames.

I made a Grilled Chicken sandwhich with romaine lettuce and a chunky tomato sauce. I used artisan bread and covered the top piece with dijon mustard. Best Sandwich I ever made.
