Cheese on toast. It's been a bit of a chaotic day, with lots to do, so we had left over Indian takeaway at lunch time so just something quick now.

Green salad with a bean salad, fresh corn and whatever fish I buy at the market. Hubby is having leftover ratatouille.

We're going to a nice restaurant tonight and I'm planning to either have either tuna steak teriyaki with ponzu sauce or cedar planked salmon with a brown sugar soy glaze. I'll probably have a sweet potato with whatever I have instead of the double stuffed cheddar potato the restaurant is famous for (too many points, I'll steal a bit off of someone else's plate ). I'll probably have some kind of dessert and a glass of wine as well.

I have a huge amount of points left today, so I can enjoy the food at the restaurant we're going to for my grandparents' anniversary

There's not much point in going to a restaurant if you can't enjoy the food. Diet at home, that's my motto.

It was amazing, I split a meal with my sister. We had a delicious japanese inspired tuna steak cooked medium with the wasabi and soy sauces (it was plated similar to sashimi, it was pretty cool) with a sweet potato. Then I had half a slice of blueberry peach pie that was SO good. It was totally worth every point consumed.

I need something fun to do with plain old porkchops (and don't say shake n bake)... any ideas?

I usually throw some thyme on em, after soaking them for a bit in lemon juice and honey.. kinda dull..

^^You could try this from Jaime Oliver:
Tray Baked Pork Chops with Herbey Potatoes, Parsnips and Pears
    4 medium to large parsnips
1 1/2 pounds potatoes, scrubbed and sliced
    4 pears, firm
    Extra-virgin olive oil
    Handful fresh thyme
8 to 10 cloves garlic, skins left on
Salt and freshly ground black pepper
    1 lemon, zested
    4 pork chops

Preheat the oven to 425 degrees F. Place a large tray in the oven to heat while you prepare your vegetables. Wash and slice the parsnips into quarters lengthwise then slice the scrubbed potatoes into 1/2-inch thick pieces and wash and slice into quarters lengthwise and add to the roasting tray. Dry them with kitchen paper, then place the parsnips, pears, and potatoes in a bowl and coat lightly with olive oil. Add some chopped or pounded thyme, all the garlic cloves, salt and pepper. Then place in the hot tray to cook in the oven for 5 minutes.
While the vegetables are in the oven, rub some thyme, lemon zest and seasoning onto the chops. Then place them in the tray with the parsnips and potatoes and add the pears. Cook for around 30 minutes until the meat is tender and the vegetables are golden.
You could chuck in any old veg if you don't have parsnips and pears.

Long pointy root vegetable, bigger than a carrot and a kind of beige colour. Out of season really anyway.

This recipe is simple and yummy.

Slather chops (both sides) in dijon mustard (or dry mustard), brown sugar and lemon juice. Slice onion rings and throw on top of chops. Let sit for a bit. Pour a small amount of water into a shallow pan and bake covered in a 350 degree oven for 45-minutes to an hour.

You can add herbs to it such as thyme and garlic, but they are quite good on their own. Serve with rice/roasted new potatoes and veggie/salad of choice.

see, in my experience pork chops cook REAL fast. like 10-15 mins tops.

But the dijon mustard thing is a neat idea.. mix that wit a lil lemon juice and pepper.. maybe a dash of maple syrup..

    neato!

It depends how thick they are. The whole point of these ones is to marinate and bake them slowly for maxium flavour. Any combo of sweet/savoury is good, but the onions are essential because they caramelize and add even more to the flavour.

I think in the book Jamie Oliver uses double thick pork chops which is why they can take a longer cooking time. I picked that version up on Tinternet thoough and for some reason it doesn't say that.
