    Gingerbread Syrup

    1 cup water
    3/4 cup white sugar
    1/2 cup brown sugar
    1 tablespoon powdered ginger
    1 1/2 teaspoons cinnamon
    1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
    1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
    1 teaspoon vanilla

Put the water, sugars, and spices in a small pot. Bring to a boil, lower the heat, and simmer uncovered for 20 minutes. Swirl the mixture every so often to make sure all the sugar dissolves and doesn't cook to the bottom of the pot. Add the vanilla. When the syrup has cooled, store in a sealed jar in the fridge.

That would be so good in my homemade cold brew! i need to go to the store before I can make it though because I don't think I have cloves on hand.

Flaming hot BBQ pizza. I ate the middle, the cats terrorised me for the crusts. I'm eating anything and everything spicy right now as I'm in week two of a cold that Will Not Die and can barely taste anything unless it is ring singe spicy. Last night I made a chicken and mushroom bhuna curry that I could barely taste either but Bloke assures me was good. I certainly hope it was because I've frozen another four servings of it.

This is really starting to piss me off as I cook by taste rather than recipe so it's a real gamble every time I step into the kitchen right now.
