I have a Cuisinart convection oven/air fryer combo. Love it. I haven't deep fried anything since I got it.

She's still at the top of my list...sometimes on my lunch break I'll catch her old russipeees on YouTube. If I need a giggle.

So I ordered lunch/dinner from this little sports bar. I'm eating a Smörgåsbord : Cheese steak sliders, cheeseburger sliders, mini corn dogs, and pasta salad.

^^^^Don't forget - warm salt water in the nostrils sometimes helps too.

Just botched up my grits for a shrimp and grits recipe. I put them in my rice cooker and they taste like crap. I used milk too because the recipe called for it. I may just use my chicken broth.

Oh, happy birthday! I love poppy seed strudels and various other pastries from all the closed-down Bohemian restaurants around here.

I had some homemade salsa which is nice since it's usually only a summer thing when the tomatoes are ripe.

@Bitter, for some reason I don't always love milk in grits which is weird because I normally love dairy. I prefer water even. It just doesn't taste quite right to me with milk, but maybe I'm doing something wrong?

A leftover-salad, with greens, corn, smoked salmon filet, half an avocado and my favourite store-bought french salad sauce, which I swear has crack in it because I want to have it all the time.

    Happy belated, Sput!!

I'm eating these amazing chicken "tacos" that I made for lunch today. Instead of tortillas, I used jicama wraps from Trader Joe's. Oh, man, these things are life changing! LOL. Seriously though, they basically have such a mild flavor that you don't even notice them. Unlike the cauliflower ones, which taste like (shock) cauliflower! I'm trying to eat a little better after the covid 15 (not really, but a solid 5 pounds for me) and I wasn't a fan of all the other wraps. Even lettuce added a different flavor. I love these. So far, I've used them with tuna and now tacos.

No, you’re not...they just taste better savory. Salt and butter. With fried fish or shrimp or bacon. But never sweet. Never again.

Yeah, I hadn't thought of that - dairy would make them kind of sweet. I like them with salt and butter and maybe a little hot sauce, but never sweet.

I haven't made grits in a million years, but I think when I made shrimp and grits, I would marinate the shrimp in hot sauce and use chicken broth to cook them...I can't remember, but it worked nicely and they weren't sweet at all.
