PB&J on Almond bread. I'm not buying PB from the discount stores anymore. You really can taste the difference from national brands like Jif and Peter Pan.

after an absolutely exhausting week at work and too much to drink last night, decided to order greasy delicious diner breakfast when i finally got my ass out of bed at noon today.
2 eggs sunny side up, french fries, sausage, rye toast. i made a latte, that was the extent of my efforts.

no recipe. i was out of the ingredients i usually use so i just improvised. I also usually do a ratio of 2/3 squash and 1/3 potato but decided to skip the taters and do all squash.
basically, take your squash, cut it into pieces, put it in an oven roasting pan. i peel the skin off of but you could roash the squash with the skin but any time i've done that i've been too lazy to wait for it to cool off before scooping out the flesh and ended up with burnt fingers.
i roughly chopped a big red onion and mixed that up with the squash, drizzled with olive oil (don't skimp on the oil), kosher salt, ground pepper, drizzle of balsamic vinegar.

i usually add a tiny bit of cumin and curry powder to squash soups but i was out so i improvised and used the tiniest bit of cinnamon instead. also put in some turmeric but i waited until it was out of the oven and in the pot to add that.

roast it until it's done, i took it out and mixed it up a bit once while it was cooking.
when it's done, transfer the squash and onions to a big pot, cover with broth. i had some leftover frozen broth that i made a while ago, but not enough, so i used that and a some organic low sodium chicken broth

(i usually buy this stuff: )

add a (tiny) pinch of turmeric (that stuff is strong), and any other spices you have lying around. i think i used a bit of that everyday spice stuff in this too. bring to a boil with the broth. then purée in the blender and you're done.

when serving, you can drizzle with a tiny bit of pumpkin seed oil, or toasted pumpkin seeds, or a bit of crème fraîche (i think i did a bit of sour cream, cause i was out of crème fraîche, and it was fine) and walla.

Just some lentil soup I had in the fridge. In general I am a fairly decent cook but managed to fail again at lentils... Bit too tough and needed to add a ton of curry and cumin to make it edible.

I went out with my mum and aunt for Christmas dinner today, it was yummy. I had a great mackerel tartare to start and that was gorgeous!

Just ate my way through a bag of chocolate coins.

Purple yam with peanut butter (that I mixed with vanilla and molasses and cinnamon earlier today) and some homemade cranberry sauce. Favorite treat. I may have the same thing again in a minute, but with a sweet potato.
