Romaine, red cabbage, cucumber, tomatoes, red onion, and chickpea salad with some homemade sesame oil dressing (aka sesame oil drizzled and mixed with a squirt of mustard). Berries, and already planning to have a peach. Coffee.

i bought it for lunch at this yummy deli place near my work but it looked simple enough. the noodles are served pretty much at room temperature or just slightly warm.

and i've made noodles with tahini sauce before and it's super easy.
you can buy tahini in most shops that carry asian or middle eastern products.

in a bowl, mix one or 2 garlic cloves, mashed, with lemon juice (to taste, depends on how tart you want your dressing), tahini, bit of olive oil, bit of water just to get the consistency you want (and if necessary), bit of soy sauce for saltiness. the dressing should be liquid enough to coat the freshly cooked noodles easily but not so liquid that it pools at the bottom and off the noodles.

the sauce at the deli was very simple so i'm guessing that's pretty much everything in it. when i've made it before, i add chopped fresh cilantro and parsley, and a bit of fish sauce. i love serving the noodles in a bowl with some steamed broccoli and teriyaki broiled salmon on top so if i'm doing that, i put less lemon in the sauce and also add some gari (japanese sushi ginger) and chop it super finely and add that to the sauce. then i sprinkle the whole thing with black sesame seeds.

the kale slaw i'm guessing is just shredded kale, finely chopped jalapeño, lemon juice, salt and pepper. it was very simple.

Oatmeal with berries and walnuts, spiced with plenty of cinnamon, nutmeg, and cardamom. I never liked walnuts much, but I'm suddenly in love with them.
