Tofu soup with maize, olives, peas and lots of curry.

EDIT: OK, please virtually punch me if I ever try to eat that again! I hate tofu and forced myself to eat it for proteins (I am vegetarian), but it was just disgusting!

have you tried quorn? i find it's better than plain tofu. i don't mind marinated tofu in stir fries or tempura or a little bit in miso soup but i'm not a huge fan of it just plain like that. and some kinds are really gross. i do love a good veggie burger or faux sausage though, and even that soy based ground 'beef' stuff is good.

having lunch at the office. leftovers from dinner last night. i made a bastardised thai salad. it's your basic thai salad with glass noodles, carrots, celery, green onion, shrimp. but i added cucumber, avocado, a bit of shredded red cabbage, a bit of lettuce. and the dressing is lemon juice, fish sauce, chili, tamarind paste and a bit of sugar. it's yummy.

Never tried it! I googled it a bit and it seems difficult to find here in Italy: I will have to go to my bio / vegan store and see if the guy there can get it from me.
I don't mind soy based burgers, though I prefer"real" vegetarina foods (like pasta with vegetables, pizza, etc) rather than those foods that are made of vegetables but "pretend" to e something else (soy meat, vegan wurstel, etc).

i used to buy it all the time in switzerland so it shouldn't be too difficult to find in italy.

    Brown toasts with eggs.
My body must be very confused at this point: I eat eggs and toasts for lunch or dinner when I am home (Italy) but I eat them for breakfast when I am in the UK, which happens 1 or 2 weeks per month.
