Same at the Jewish deli by me. I get matzo ball, noodles and no chicken. I'll eat the chicken if I make the soup- but pick around it at restaurants.

No, they only do that for you because you're practically royalty. Whatever you please, Queen. We owe you the utmost gratitude for donating to our country club.

    To your health, Mariesoleil!

Meaning, no wine here either, just beer and shots. Plenty, though.

So did I. Had such fun with my colleagues. And then I came home to a grumpy mister. Why did I leave the bar again?

    Well, this thread is certainly...interesting.

I can't drink anything with my meals, actually. Even if I go out in a restaurant and get some wine, I usually drink it after I'm done eating.

I hate sugar with my tea or coffee, even though I love sweet things. I only have sugar with cold instant coffee, and I sometimes have honey with herbal teas, but I just prefer plain coffee or tea as a rule.

I loathe milk. I adore all milk products (cheese, yoghurt, even sour milk), but the smell of fresh milk alone makes me gag.

I can't stand pepper, or any kind of hot food. It's an inconvenience, since most restaurants cook with at least some pepper.

I can't eat ice cream in the summer-the taste is too rich to handle in hot weather, so I usually have frozen yoghurt, or better still, a sorbet. I love eating ice cream in winter though.

I could live off borscht. The fact that it's both nutricious and delicious is a bonus. I prefer it without meat though. As far as I know you can make it with either ham, bacon or sausage. My grandmother and mom both make the best homemade borscht ever. There's this adorable deli not too far from my parents house back in my small town home and they serve fresh bread, cheese, crackles, perogies, bacon, deli meats and soup made right there on location. It's the upside of living near a farming community. Another tasty soup, a second favorite would be a string bean and potatoe soup, again without meat. I'm not quite sure what the origional name of this particular soup is, i'd have to ask my mom. It comes in a lovely, light broth with just the right amount of spices, you just add cream. I'm craving soup now. I don't mean to seem out of the loop but what exactly is a matzo ball? And I like my chicken noodle soup the same way, without noodles. I'm not a fan of pasta noodles, or bread for that matter but that's most likely a good thing, especially as I get older.
