i broil veggies all the time though. i broil asparagus - just steam cook them a tiny bit first and then stick them under the broiler drizzled with olive oil and with some pine nuts sprinkled on top. the tops of the asparagus toast a little bit but the middle is still pretty al dente and the pine nuts get all toasty and yummy.

^^Oh, Old Bay Seasoning. Yeah, that's what my boyfriend says too. We use it in everything....fried chicken, crab cakes, potato salad, french fries and they even have a brand of potato chips.

Baltimore is odd little town....but I love it.

I love Old Bay seasoning. I finally found a store here that carries it. It's a fish shop.

Bella - a broiler is a grill. Most ovens have them with a rack and grill pan underneath to catch the crumbs/fat? I never use mine because it makes such a mess of the oven and sets off the smoke detectors! I've learned to use our gas barbie to grill things and that keeps the mess, smell, smoke outside.

English wine - OK if you like it sweet (I don't) but it's not as good as its French equivalents. As for French wine, we have the opposite problem here in that the only stuff available in restaurants or bottle shops is the outrageously expensive vintrage stuff. There are countless, cheaper Aussie alternatives so that's what we go for. The wine industry here is pretty powerful too and I'm sure they enourage high import tariffs for foreign wines to protect their own interests.

Me, too...it used to be tough to find outside of the mid-Atlantic region. It's really good on certain types of fish.

    Weird eating habits....hmmm...

I cannot eat breakfast before 10am.
I MUST drink at least 72 oz of water/day, or else I pay for it--oh, and I don't like cold water unless it's really hot outside or I've just worked out.
I absolutely cannot live without my morning coffee.

    I'm pretty boring huh?

I'm the same about my morning tea - a True Brit eh? Two large mugs of green or ordinary tea (no milk or sugar) before I can function at any level at all.

    ^^

It's the truth! Seriously...if I don't have the coffee in the morning, I don't feel right the rest of the day and the headache will kick in....not good.

Nah - I think someone's been watching too much Real Housewives Of Orange County. Too many predictable cliches to be real I've decided.

^^I completely agree. A little 2 dimensional to pull the ol wool over the eyes yet. The moment Plebs were mentioned, I just started to giggle uncontrolably. But I say more elitist scum need to tread these boards
