So far (up through last night), Mrs Mo has made

    Cranberry sauce
Cranberry relish (and brought some over to our 70+ neighbor who just had knee-replacement surgery)
    Pumpkin cake
    Oatmeal chocolate chip cookies
    Regular chocolate chip cookies
Honduran stuffing (it has ground pork, ground beef, vegetables and some other stuff)

The kids and I have been cleaning up, mainly, or basically doing whatever we've been told to do.

My sister called me yesterday and told me "Don't make or bring anything, you guys are coming from out of town and don't need to worry about that.". I still made the cookies I was planning to make, thumbprint cookies with strawberry jam. 😋

I love those - I used to eat around the outside and save the middle for last, LOL.

Just coughing fits here. Hydrating and hoping it calms down before I really have to start cooking at 2. I've been incredibly productive this morning. I pulled the rolls I bought out of the freezer...

I am totally rocking this meal. I even made a first course - red lentil sweet potato soup from Forks Over Knives.

I used to hate sweet potatoes, but that soup sounds great. I love lentils.

Just drove around for an hour trying to find a bakery with the seedless rye bread I forgot to buy that my mother will disown me for not having. Finally found it and was so overcome with gratitude I gave the girl $20 for the $2.95 loaf. Fingers crossed the hubs has remembered to baste while I was gone. I set the most obnoxious alarm on his phone as a reminder, partly to ensure his compliance and partly to piss him off for having the audacity to nap. Is it too early to start drinking? Not asking for a friend.

    Happy Thanksgiving!

My sister called yesterday and actually wanted to put my family at our own table, away from the group, because she couldn't figure out the seating. I am much younger than my siblings and I typically feel left out, so you can imagine how this made me feel. She figured something else out, which I'm really happy about.

Sometimes I don't believe we were raised by the same parents. In a way we weren't. I am such an afterthought. After 52 years of this, I'm used to it, but sometimes it still bothers me.

Don't mean to drag this down. It will be fun to see my nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews and I have my children home for college. That's all that matters.

Off to try a new corn recipe.

At 52, your sister is trying to stick you at a kiddie table?!

That would piss me off too! Your venting is well-earned! I'm 14 years younger than my two oldest sibs and 3 younger than my brother and they wouldn't DARE. Kudos to you for trying to make the best of it cause that kinda bullshit would throw me into such a tailspin I'd just skip it altogether. I hope your corn recipe is delish and you only make enough for YOUR side of the table.

Edited because if my pettiness wasn't already making it clear, I made an executive decision to begin drinking.

Nobody sticks me at a kiddie table. Not after the time I told them jokes all evening. Kids and I had a blast.

    Free joke kids will love:
