It varies by location but some of them have the best deli food ever. And the one I go to has good seafood--local mussels for 4.99/lb. Which is really pretty good for the overpriced nature of Whole Foods.

I have bought almonds, incense and essential oils there. That's it.

They do have an awesome prepared foods section and the Whole Foods 365 label is an affordable option for a ton of items. The bestest prepared foods ever is HEB Central Market (in Houston, insert frowny face here) I found PCC here and it's really awesome but NOTHING compares to HEB Central Market.

I do like that you can get pizza dough at Whole Foods.

I will totes vouch that for you. I love walking in there and smelling the fresh squeezed orange juice. I love the freshly prepared guacamole! They have their little sushi area (I don't eat it, but I appreciate that it's there for those who do). And OMG, the prepared foods section with the almond chicken and.. well, everyTHANG is completely awesome!

We only eat at Whole Foods from their food bar. Ours here is one step above crap but the Whole Foods in Chapel Hill is amazing. We never buy anything there since it's more about packaging then substance. We have a great organic market here that's been around for 17 years, no need to switch. Also, Trader Joes is a bike ride away with much lower prices.

It gets under my skin how Whole Foods programs its employees to start intimate conversations with you and make commentary on your purchases. It's so forced and a part of the new corporate policy in many places to force intimacy with the customer.

Thank fuck I haven't run into that forced intimacy thing with our WF here, just the regular "Can I help you find anything" deal. Too many people in there for them to have time to do that hardcore I figure. I hate when other grocery employees comment on purchases--YES, I buy booze and the same fattening shit everytime, and NO I don't want to talk to you about it, just bag it and fuck off tyvm. It's happened at Trader Joe's mostly.

Too funny; a co-worker calls it "Whole Paycheck."

I've never had the forced intimacy. Rather, they seem as if they really don't care, for the post part. Almost as if I can hear them say, "Oh, look! Here's another one, looking at our supplements and vitamins and wondering why we have some refrigerated. I'm gonna roll my eyes now, and you go help her. I helped the last one," when they have no idea that I've been into reading about fitness and nutrition probably longer than they and may know more about what they sell. So it cracks me up.
