Thanks, it just seemed a bit too hefty! I agree Kimmi, Murricans are weird.

dips aren't the only scary-ass shit on pinterest. anyone else have their feed bombarded by these insanely elaborate manicures? i mean, who the fuck has the time to do that on their nails, only to have that shit chip off in in about half an hour?
in fact, i think i might just start a thread about that.

Hahaha, I have a friend who does them, but yeah. It's her only hobby. I love the pinterest fails when they show how many of those 'manicure quick tips!' don't work at all.

OK, now I'm confused, do you guys outside of the states really never have dips that are served warm? I've never thought of that as an American thing. It's not any stranger than fondue. To me the crazy, gross part is either that they're sweet or have gross combinations or textures, like the green bean casserole dip I posted before.

No I can't say I've ever had warm dip. Sounds gross.

Wow, I honestly never knew that was an American thing. Ya learn something new every day. I never gave it any thought before this thread. When I think of hot dips or spreads, I think of hot artichoke dip, hot crab dip, pretty simple recipes that work well with chips and crackers, and they're really good. I just thought turning every dinner entree into a dip was strange.

Yep, I love hot artichoke dip, chili cheese dip, hot crab dip you name it. I had no idea that this was an American thing either.

I love hot artichoke dip, especially with a little hot sauce. It's heaven. I also like chili cheese dip and all those, too.

Mmmm. I take it little dipper crock pots are not big sellers outside of the US.

Buffalo Chicken Dip. You'll thank me when eating it.

    Original recipe makes 5 cups

2 (10 ounce) cans chunk chicken, drained

2(8 ounce) packages cream cheese, softened

    1 cup Ranch dressing

3/4 cup pepper sauce (such as Frank's Red HotŪ)

1 1/2 cups shredded Cheddar cheese

1 bunch celery, cleaned and cut into 4 inch pieces (optional)

1 (8 ounce) box chicken-flavored crackers (or you can use tortilla chips)

    Directions

1.Heat chicken and hot sauce in a skillet over medium heat, until heated through. Stir in cream cheese and ranch dressing. Cook, stirring until well blended and warm. Mix in half of the shredded cheese, and transfer the mixture to a slow cooker. Sprinkle the remaining cheese over the top, cover, and cook on Low setting until hot and bubbly. Serve with celery sticks and crackers.

You can also halve this recipe pretty easily.

And that's another thing unique to America (as far as I know) - why do you guys call the main course the entree? The word entree should be enough to make you twig that it's probably supposed to come FIRST - but of course this causes more confusion for foreigners like me who order an entree and a main and get stared at by wait staff as if I have 2 heads.
