I do like her. I just bought her magazine-Every day with Rachel Ray. It was pretty neat. It had some really good tips/ideas, but so many of her recipes use things that I don't/can't eat. Cheeses and seafood mainly...but I htink she is really cute and I love to watch her show-she just gets so into it.
My fave fave fave is Paula Deen. This woman is a hoot! She is from Georgia, I think but the name of her show is Southern Cookin with Paula Deen. She is all about butter and oil! My kinda cooking there!
I do like Gaida De Laurentis, too, but there again-so much cheese and stuff I don't like...
THE EASIEST WAY OUT IS THROUGH....
I like her OK, sometimes she has some good ideas and recipes. Totally agree with Mr. Authority on the $40-a-day show - plus, on it everything she eats on there gives her a foodgasm, or at least she fakes it.
The only thing that really gets me about the 30 minute meals is that she does all the vegetable washing ahead, which is not REALLY saving time - you SPENT that time washing the vegetables when you brought them in! And who the hell is that organized, anyway?
I like 30-Minute Meals and I like that Rachael makes real meals using real food and not a bunch of prepackaged crap. I also love that she is enthusiastic and really seems to enjoy what she's doing. She beats the heck out of Christine Cushing [Canadian] who has about as much personality as a wet paper towel. How that woman has managed to stay on the air so long, I have no idea. And they've just given her a second show. O_o Food Network Canada is going right down the drain.
I liked her until she hooked uo with Oprah. She sold out.
Have you realized that on $40-a-day its just her, one single person eating breakfast, lunch and dinner for under $40. You know as well as I do that most people are going to have more than one person when on vacation so in reality its $40-a-day-per-person unless you are hitting McD's. i have to say, i really like her. i used to be irritated by her Rachael-isms (ie accent, pitch/tone of voice and her short forms) but once i got used to it i began to really enjoy the show. i use it as a sort of jumping off point for some good recipies. i like to kind of create my own fare so i love cooking shows to give me ideas to work with.
i don't really think she sold out at all with regards to hooking up with oprah. she would be a fool to turn down a) fabulous exposure b) good money.Originally Posted by darksithbunny
ughhh i hate christin cushing. she could murder and flambay people on her show and it'd still be boring.Originally Posted by aabbcc
heck, i'd team up with oprah too given the chance!

I'm so sad to hear that people think her accent is annoying! That's MY accent! Rachael Ray is originally from about 5 minutes away from me, she went through my line once at TJ Maxx
All you can do at life is play along and hope that sometimes you get it right.
I got fed up with her show, but I feel sorry for her because of her hubby.
