I bet if I made a lime jello mold with some good strong vodka in it people would scarf it down!

If you made it with some good quality gin, a dash of vermouth and kept the olives you could make a Martini Jello! Gimme a dozen

Sounds delicious. Send any extras my way!

That green jello with marshmallows is a dreaded national shame.
Chances are, every holiday table was crammed with the things,
    quivering beneath the Christmas lights.

We try not to speak of such things.

I really went off my nutter for a little while there and really screwed this poor thread up. Even though I have not had anything to drink in a few weeks I am going to blame it all on

My nana used to make this with pistachios instead of walnuts or pecans. And it is strange but we kids didn't care for it, but the older people loved it! I do have fond memories of it, even though I wouldn't eat it...it reminds me of the few summers that I had with my nana and grandaddy...

We are all entitled to go off the "deep end" at least once a week. And you really didnt go off the deep end anyway. Something just rubbed you the wrong way and its ok. Im proud of you Sojiita, not having a drink to numb the pain. I really mean it when I say I love you. Im getting teary-eyed, deep breaths in and out.

I react badly to anything involving my parents mortality, too. It's understandable. You're a good son!

Interesting site: http://www.historicfood.com/Jellies.htm Moulded gelatine foods go back much further that I thought. Some of them are quite complex.
