And I swear that tea, however you take it, tastes SO much better from a proper cup and saucer. Being a Brit by birth of course I know the benefits of a proper cuppa, but what you drink it from really does make all the difference. Very civilized.

This is the teapot from my mother's wedding china. It's been discontinued, but it was made by Noritake and the design is "Kathleen." I love the pattern - I'm not sure you can tell from the picture, but there are tiny blue flowers around the edges.

    This is the coffee pot:

This is the coffee pot from a set of china that she inheirted many, many moons ago. The design is "Fascination" by Fashion Royale, and it has tiny white flowers around the edge that you can't see in the picture. My mother pulls this set out for Christmas every year, and it's always a treat to drink coffee or tea after dinner.

My sister sent me this a while ago for my birthday. It's so dainty. I absolutely love it.

This set was given to me by my Grandmother. I don't exactly know how old it is though. I treasure it.

Into the sunrise. The sunset is sad to me….it only means the night is coming.

You won't believe it, but I have that one. I have all of Grandma's Royal Albert. I love that they are painted inside. I never use them but I love to look at them. If I drank coffee from them it would be one big sip!

this thread makes me miss my mom and her tea parties. not ones with me, but the ones she had with her friends in the 60's. every day i would come home from school, her and her friends would sit in the kitchen with her fancy tea pot and cups watching General Hospital. i would get to join in if i had a good day in school!

^^ yep. Grandma used the good cups for Mahjohng. I remember my friend using her mother's tea set at 4 am when we got up to watch Charles and Di's wedding.

I can't believe you have this cup! That is too good. My mother (it's all about our mothers it seems) left me about 18 Royal Albert cups and saucers from the 50's and 60's, but she would have never bought a black cup. I still have her china cabinet and have been adding to the collection but with cups that are a little more me (funkier!).

I love all the cups and the stories - this thread is warming my heart! Here is one of my mother's Royal Albert's:

^^ I want that! I also have one with a black background with yellow flowers and gold rims. I was never a flower person but I really love them. I also have a thing for sugar bowls.
