Keeping folks out of the house is more of an issue and I discovered that it's not just me, my neightbour (who's husband just passed) has the same problem, complete strangers walking in. Strangely enough the "chavier" the walker the politer they are, it's the middle-class ones that appear to be most entitled.
Yeah, I've managed to resister the urge to throw this at unwanted visitors... I like the cat pictures.
Are you seriously telling me that complete strangers walk IN YOUR HOUSE as if it was a tourist attraction????? Are you???? I can't bear this.

YES! I am! They're rude ingorent, etc, etc. The politest? The chavs, the (loud) Americans. The rudest? The brits, esp middle class middle aged ones for some reason....

Novice. Forgive me. I can't let this go. Do they just walk in, and you find them in your kitchen? Or do they ring the bell? What do they SAY?

OK, we don't have a bell, no they don't knock, yes, they just walk in. Our house doesn't look like what you'd call a house, its a 300 yr old cottage, so it's single story stone-thing. Fortunealy they have to walk passed the kitchen window to get to the door. I'm usually up on my way to the door. No-one, not even my BIL/MIL walks in without knocking.... so my response is to ask them what are they doing and what do they want. Frequently at +decibles...
One weirdo knocked & asked me where something was (I didn't know where it was) then tried to barge passed me into the house, when I asked him what he thought he was doing he said he wanted to use the toilet.... I think I managed to refrain from too much offensiveness but shut the door in his face & locked it.
Does that help answer your question?
Oh, yeah, and townies think that "right to roam" is a good idea.....

I usually have the door locked due to this, but my neighbour who has camping facilities has said that she & her (now late) husband were in the kitchen having breakfast when people just let themselves in.... She's not shy either! but they just seem to think that they have the right to be anywhere they want because its the countryside (and I'm sure that "right to roam" doesn't include the inside of houses!).

^ Ooh, I love them both. The colours in the bottom one are so fresh!

I have one-Standard Poodle- but I think he is gay. We love him anyway-he would be more inclined to dance in the meadow. He is not fond of hunting. Cleaning is good excercise & Chalet may give you a star.

Dear HHR-we might digress a bit,but please post more teacups!

Bogey (McJag) does not have a sensitive stomach, alas. He once ate my lavender panties (having taken them out of a drawer 3 ft high) which I thought was a fluke, but no.He waited weeks and carefully selected the matching lace bra.. He has aso gotten an entire ham & several steaks -raw or cooked-he has no preference, off the kitchen counter. His reach is staggering. He loves riding with me in the car sitting bolt upright in the back seat. He is the love of my life ,so thank you for defending the majestic poodle!

Bogey and I disapprove of hunting! But we are ready should anyone try to get in the house! He has a deep bark and does not tolerate the Fed Ex man kindly.
If they were polyester, I would understand that about your poodle. Poodles eat polyester panties in the pantry ...
