I have never tasted Nutella. Im running out tonight to get some so I can say "Ive finally tasted the sweetness of Nutella". I would have pronounced it nut-tella also, sorry to those who disagree.
So how is the best way to eat this choco-hazelnut concoction?

Actually, I've never had it either. My best friend says it's nasty, so I'm scared of it now.

Put it on toast. I guess you could use it to make desert but I've never really tried that, maybe something like a choco pudding.

Nutella is a hazel nut spread. Crepe places around here usually have a banana nutella crepe.

I saw on a cooking show once that this was invented during the war time because there was a shortage of cacao/cocoa powder to make chocolate and this hazel nut concoction tasted exactly like chocolate so it was used as a replacement.

If you think it's crazy, you ain't seen a thing. Just wait until we're goin down in flames.

Nutella is sweet chocolate/hazelnut spread. Surprisingly enough it tastes like chocolate/hazelnut. It's good on toast, bread, saltines, ice cream, banana, etc. Anyone who thinks it tastes 'nasty' must be a one-in-a-million who does not like chocolate.

It's not exactly the same, but I didn't want to bother with IPA symbols here.

Call me one in a million then. I like chocolate, but I don't like Nutella because I fucking hate hazelnuts with a passion. It's also too sweet.

Can you believe that with the combined educational and intellectual firepower at our disposal on this board we are engaged in a debate about the pronunciation and taste of a brand of chocolate spread?

Yes. That's what educated people do. We want mom and dad to get their money's worth, don't we?

    ^^LOL

I have to go out and get some of this stuff now. Sounds delish. Better keep it away from my brother-in-law, though. Horribly allergic to hazelnuts. And he's known to go through my cupboards (and everyone else's) to snack. It's going on the top shelf behind the macaroni!

I know (I'm French) but I couldn't find something better than the German to explain the sound. By the way, Nutella is delicious when spread on crpes (pancakes)

Yeah, I've had it on crepes; last time I was in Paris I was getting crepes from those street vendors all the time, but I prefer dark chocolate.

Actually, crepes avec confiture de prune sounds pretty damn good right now. Normally I can never find plum jelly in my normal supermarket, but I bought 2 jars of it last time the French Market was in town. Mmmmmmm.
