Apparently mozzies dislike Vitamin B. So Marmite / Vegemite being full of it boosts your levels and makes you not so tasty.

Vegemite and Marmite are industrial waste. Literally. They are made from the by-products of beer manufacturing, i.e. leftover brewer's yeast.

are you telling me that vitamin B keeps mosquitos away?

this is important to me, because they love me. and, i have fibromyalgia, which some docs say vitamin b is normally low in people with fibro. IV infusions of b vitamins have put some people in remission. so, i need to know, as i am on my 2nd martini cuz of the pain.

Prince Phillip ate Marmite NONSTOP while we were in SA. His sister bought it for him. It is vegetarian but another sister showed me this stuff her husband eats on toast that is BEEF flavored, also in a jar. OX something-Stacey help me out here. As for the butter on sammiches, PP does that too. It actually is good for sack lunches because the butter acts as sealant-keeping the bread from getting mushy.

It's called Bovril, Reina and it's delicious. Or it could have been liquid OXO. Bovril is better. Brits nearly ALWAYS put butter in sarnies - it helps stick everything together as you say and stops mushiness.

It was OXO. Thanks. I was going to call it a sarnie but didn't want to go all MADGE on you guys. I have to admit I did affect an accent on occasions while on vacation. I was understood perfectly in France but not in Africa-many of the native Africans in restaurants and in the reserves did NOT understand my American accent. For important questions and requests, I faked it. Otherwise I would just get a "no" or "I don't know" because I wasn't understood.

My parents made friends with a South African couple that owns a tourist tat shop here in town, and their daughter moved here from J'burg a few months later. So...my mom bugged me to meet up with this girl and to introduce her to my friends.

I met her for coffee and I could not BELIEVE what was coming out of this girl's mouth. I'll never forget this one: "The blicks need the woite muntalitee, they kont do innything for thumsielves."

Let me tell you, they are not exactly PC. My sister-in-law still uses the word "kaffir" or the just calls things "k" for short.
