I said once a week because it probably averages that way. I live in a dorm so don't have access to anywhere I can cook.

When I lived in a dorm, some of us were really hungry and the kitchen was closed. One of the girls bought a george forman grill and cooked hamburgers and hot dogs in her tiny room.
Im ashamed to say what I did for a klondike bar...

haha we used to do this in rez too (except the rez had a common room w a stove and stuff because on sunday nights the cafs weren't open). the george forman made some great steaks, hot dogs and hamburgers!

i used to detest cooking but my boyfriend got me started and taught me some basics. after i learned the basics i really started enjoying creating amazing meals at home. now i love to cook for the two of us and i now love to cook and entertain our friends. i love cooking nice looking meals that look at least as good as anything you could get at a gourmet restaurant on a student budget. like SVZ said, what's the point of paying lots of money for something you can make at home?

Aside from boiling cans of soup,
the only thing I actually COOK is spaghetti.
But at Korean mom & pop restaurants you can get
a meal of pork cutlets and rice for about $3 US.
(Honest.) So there is no incentive for me to learn
how to cook (or to buy a lot of unnecessary pots & pans).

I honestly cook every day...well, expect the nights I throw in a frozen pizza. That's why I love getting recipes on here. I seem to get into ruts of cooking the same things, over and over.

I hate hate cooking, but I'd just stare at all the crap my grandmother use to make in her kitchen. She even taught me how to make things from scratch when you dont have alot. That's how I learn to feed my self other than going out a perchasing some fried crap that I know will kick my ass later. Plus you save money.

^ Aw, its such a shame for me to hear someone say that, Cooking is one of my favourite things, it always makes me relaxed, happy, and i get to use all my creativity. If you are cooking for someone who fully appreciates it, even better! I also find it a great way to continue the tradition of your country. Im greek, so we have a serious and highly extensive cooking tradition.. We take our food seriously.

i eat out too much. and i cook more often at work than i do at home. we have a full kitchen at my office so with a couple of people we do groceries and make lunch together, unless i go out to lunch which i do pretty often... i said every other day because that's probably the average...
then at night i don't really have dinner unless i go out to eat or i have people over and cook for them, i can't be bothered to just cook for myself so i usually end up having a yoghurt or some fruit or if i'm lucky i'll have leftover soup in the freezer and just heat that up...

I love to cook, and I wish I could. Like I said, the dorm thing means no access to anywhere I can cook. George Foremans (and electric skillets and coffee makers....) are totally out of the question. I used to have one and they found out about it and I got fined. If they smell anything cooking they know someone has it and sniff you out b/c it's a "fire hazard". We are allowed our microwave though, so I've done some microwave cooking, but it just isn't the same.

I know NoDay, it's not as fresh and espcially microwaved meat isnt all tasty. In which I went on a burrito binge for several weeks and stored them in shared fridge, it was the closes thing I could get to satisfying my stomach.

I'd say I cook dinner at home 5 times a week. We eat at new restaurant on Fridays (payday), and there's always one night a week where I'd rather burn down my kitchen than step foot in it.

I learned that from my mother. I'm always amazed when people tell me what they spend on groceries because even though we eat mostly organic and my husband is a strict vegetarian, our grocery bills are a lot lower than most other couples we know. And we buy what we want.

I make a lot of soups, casseroles, stirfrys, baked stuff that is nutritious, and lasts for a couple of meals. Plus, I don't have to cook from scratch every single day so I get a break from cooking when I'm busy.

I would cook everyday if I could, but my cooking ability isnt to great so I tend to make the same dishes over and over again. And by bf is a VERY picky eater. He wont eat anything w/ onions or garlic.
