I love my vegemite. I have it at least 3 times a day, on toast.

I'm sorry, I smelled it once and just couldn't eat it. I guess I missed out.

I bought some yesterday, imported from Oz. It was $10.99 for a small jar!!!!! It was so good on toast with cheese this morning, tho. Yum.

I'm rather afraid I do a bit of Slathering when it comes to Marmite.

If you want your tastebuds to implode in on themselves I suggest Twiglets dipped in Marmite. Even I couldn't handle it.

Vegemite is VILE. It was revolting the last time I tried it some years ago - they may have changed the recipe. It might be a different recipe in Australia. Marmite on the other hand is lovely but if trying for the first time you need to remember just a light scraping on freshly buttered toast. White bread is probably best because it isn't as strong as wholemeal.

Live a little and realize that the colonies kicked your Marmite in its pussy half-hearted vitamin deficient arse.

    And get back to reality.

I like then both and get UK friends to smuggle large jars of Marmite into Oz for me because you can't get it here. They do taste slightly different, but not much (a bit like Pepsi and Coke) so I can't really understand how some people really hate one but not the other. Maybe my tastebuds are so wrecked by eating too much Vege/Marmite I can't tell the difference any more.

Have had both vegemite and marmite, couldn't tell much of a difference. I am in California, was introduced to it by a friend of mine from New Zealand. I know it's not soy sauce but that is the closest flavor I could compare it to. And I loved it. (Now I should figure out where to get it in Cali!)
Don't worry about what other people think. They don't do it very often.

I've had both Marmite and Vegemite and I can't tell the difference either. I love it on a crackers or toast mixed with some butter. But I put very little, the taste is too strong to handle if I slather the stuff.

It's delish with cheese on toast too. Real nursery 'comfort' food. When I'm feeling sick or miserable or pissed off I turn to Vege/Marmite on toast and it always makes me feel better.
