No idea what that would run considering I get my radioactive orange processed cheese powder in a huge bulk bag at the Mennonite store. Enough nuke-powder to make enough mac cheese to feed a large elementary school runs around 4 bucks.

Soj, I said we could share it. I would rather share the glory (?) than to hog it all myself. Plus, think of all the fun we can have swapping the crown back and forth. So come on, be Supermarket Co-!ueen with me?
Besides, I want to try on those earrings and tiara you have!

^^Oh all right. I think they will set off my sparkly pink burqa magnificently!
i am too poor to shop right now so somebody needs to submit their list and reveal their food buy secrets!!!! Thank God no one has submitted stuff that I would have absolutely no clue about..like large amounts of pet food(no pets here) or feminine hygiene products(reason-obvious)! I have absolutely no idea how much tampons or stuff like that costs. Fortunately.

We made the switch about five years ago to eating nothing but butter, no margarine at all is allowed in the house. We use it sparingly but the Mr and I have had lower cholesterol readings since we made the switch. It always bothered me that many types of margarine are hard at such high temps while butter at least has the virtue of melting at low temps. Just what is this doing to your body? So I buy my butter in five pound misshapen lumps. The funniest thing on the wrapper is the ingredients list "butter & salt" not the millions of preservatives you get on commercial butter.

What I do is buy it in bulk, cut it into slices and put each slice in a ziplock bag and freeze the entire mess of it. Freezes well and you just pull out a bag whenever you need to refill the butter dish.

Generally... I think food is expensive here, but it's expensive everywhere in this country so I don't have any hints other than it's not really cheap...
