    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 cup pecans

Combine the sugars, salt, and evaporated milk. Stir over low heat until the sugars dissolves. Make sure to stir constantly so mixture doesn't burn. Cook to the "soft ball" stage (about 15 minutes) then cool slightly. Add butter, vanilla and pecans and beat till creamy. Drop spoonfuls onto a piece of waxed paper.
I'm making these for Christmas dinner. That's the easiest recipe I've found so far, thanks!

    Default Favourite Party Foods?

My favourite is this really easy Spinach Dip my mom makes. All you do is put equal parts sour cream and mayonnaise (or miracle whip. I prefer miracle whip to be honest), and then mix in some dried vegetable soup mix. I think my mom uses Knorr's, and we often crush it up a bit more so it takes less time to absorb moisture and become soft. And then of course, add the spinach. We use frozen chopped spinach. Either leave it out all day or overnight to thaw, or (since I never remember to take it out of the freezer), run it under the tap for a few minutes and it should thaw out sufficiently! Then we normally get a round sourdough loaf, cut off the top then hollow out the middle and put the spinach dip in there. Use the left over bread from the hollowing and the "lid" for dipping bread, and often you'll find you need to buy another loaf to have enough for all the dip. Then ta da! You're done!
