did he get thrown off food network?
well his local presence has been quashed so didn't know what was going on.
i watch a lot of cooking videos on instagram too. a lot of the big food sites/magazines have social media pages. food52, the kitchn, bon appétit, smitten kitchen, etc. they all post videos. i also really like alison roman, scandal and all. she has some amazing recipes and she has a very intuitive approach to food. david chang posts some pretty great videos too, lots of fun asian fusion takes on american staples and he's really entertaining. ottolenghi, of course, and noor murad. like ottolenghi she also does mostly vegetarian stuff and they're really amazing.
i also follow a bunch of people who specialise in stuff that's mostly plant based, gluten free or anti-inflammatory since that's how i mostly have to eat these days. there's some great ones and they're really useful for anyone who's just trying to be healthier and eat more vegetables and whole foods. i really like chief spice mama and samira kazan, amy chaplin and vegan richa.

he had a large store in downtown mill valley (lots of foot traffic) that had issues and closed years ago. he was using it to try to brand himself. also, he was hoping to film food network shows there but the town wouldn't let him. then he moved from mill valley to corte madera so he has mostly been under the radar. his restaurant in mill valley shut down and was pretty much abandoned.
That's too bad. I have made several of his recipes and enjoyed his show. I also loved how he took down Andrew Zimmern when Zimmern said that he was one of the least talented chefs on TV. Tyler told him how could anyone take Zimmern seriously when he ate soup made from animals' dicks. LOL.
Why couldn't he film his show in his own restaurant? How can the town stop him? And why?

1. i have had no success making his recipes. and did not like his cooking show. i've tasted some of his food (local chef events) and thought he was pretty mediocre.
2. mill valley said NO to him filming since they said it would've created too much foot and car traffic in the area. the filming would've spilled out into the sidewalk and street and that's a no no.
