It's like Paula Deen food. No one is pretending it's not horrifically unhealthy for you, but then again I don't think anyone is eating one every day or even every week. It's a nice treat now and again so Mars needs to suck it. The same is true for both Mars bars and the deep fried version. Mars has more important things to worry about. Don't they still need moms?

This is probably a legacy of their founder, Forrest Mars, being kind of a control freak. I read that he would regularly inspect the M&M's as they came down the conveyor built, and if the M&M logo was askew on the candy, he would absolutely flip out. And I am not making that up.

I mentioned this to the Bloke as he spends a lot of time in Scotland on jobs. He says that the only way he'd consider eating a mars bar was if he was having a hypo and there was absolutely nothing else available. I have to agree with him, I've never been able to finish one in one sitting.

I've had deep fried mars bars before, definitely not an every day food, but I agree it's a fun treat every once in a while. But then I love anything fried. It's not any stranger than deep frying batter and putting chocolate and nuts on top and eating it for breakfast with a cup of coffee.

But, I don't think I would like deep fried oreos, though.

I've had a Deep Fried Snickers Bar and that thing was delicious. The batter had the consistency of a spongy cake rather than hard-fried batter, so it was gooey and soft.

I wouldn't eat that shit on a daily basis though and the Mars company needs to take several seats talking about their brand endorsing a "healthy lifestyle".
