I showed this to my boys and now they want to know why I don't learn how to do this for their birthdays even though they know I can't even draw stick people decently.

You guys are all awesome. THank you so much. Comments from kids are worth double so thanks to all of you who took the time to tell me your kids enjoyed it.

This was actually one of the fastest cakes I've made and it took roughly ten hours (that includes time to bake the cakes, make the frostings etc). I expected the Death Star to take me 3-4 but it went much more smoothly than I had expected.

I do think the kids at the party enjoyed it. It's always uncomfortable to get oohs and aahs over cakes I make for my kids' parties. The party should be about them and not their mom's hobby, you know? So I hear some comments but I usually find a way to excuse myself before it becomes the topic of conversation and overshadows their big day. So thank you for indulging me here!
