But Kashi products do have high fructose corn syrup in them, which is why I do not buy them. Even corn flakes! Even Rice Crispies which is why I only eat Cheerios. I even wrote to Kellogg's and asked why they used that and so much sugar in their cereal products. They wrote back and said it was for taste. I tell them that as an adult, I do not need to have my cereal sweetened and just preferred the health benefits it provided. They didn't say anything after that.
As for reading lables, I do, every one of them if it is a product I've not used. I learned to do that when I realized that so many food companies were sneaking so many unhealthy things in our food. And then had the nerve to post "all natural" on the label!
Parents, I know, are busy but it will do more good to read the labels from now on. Especially read fruit juice labels because so many of them contain HFS. Cranberry juice is one of them. They do have a brand, Newman's Own, that sweetens their juices with natural grape juice.
