It depends on how good your barista is if you order a dry cappuccino. I've had awful ones and really good ones both at local coffee houses and Starbucks. I really prefer my cappuccinos close to bone dry (very little milk at all, and the rest foam), but if I know the barista doesn't make good, dense, creamy foam and free pour the milk it is a waste and I'll end up getting something else (usually a cafe au lait/misto at Starbucks-1/2 brewed coffee, half steamed milk).
And yeah, I'm admittedly a snob about my drink, but working at a coffee shop for years has made me that way.
We get some flat out undrinkable orders. I have a regular who gets 10 pumps of chocolate in her Frappuccino-there are usually 2 and I find that too sweet. Also, the butterbeer frap from the secret menu is atrocious. Beyond pure sugar and I don't know how anyone drinks it.
