Sigh. All this wonderful food talk!! I'm being good so I can have a normal dinner on Thanksgiving.

And Marie Callendars! Sigh again. I miss that place. We don't have a pie place up here that is similar.

We're hosting the family (not parents, but the "kid" generation who are all in Southern Ontario) and some friends at our place this year. Just did my shopping today, except for fresh bread and rolls.

    We're having:

Turkey, stuffed with a bread/sage/onion/apple stuffing
    Gravy
    Garlic mashed potatoes
    Roasted potatoes (maybe au gratin)
    Green beans almondine
    Homemade cranberry sauce
Baked shells with butternut squash and fresh parmesan
    Sweet potato pie
Pumpkin tarts with cream cheese icing
    Lemon meringue pie
    And lots of wine!

Yeah, we're having about 12 people... I'm skeered.

Do you have a recipe for green beans amandine that you care to share, Tati? Because I have some very fresh green beans in my fridge and I think they will go well with my Indian beef curry, baked yams, basmati race and raita.

Edited to say that I found one.

So how was everyone's thanksgiving? I went to my in-laws and we had turkey and ham with all the fixings. Then, the next day I went to my sister's where we had turkey and all the fixings. The gym will be my friend a little more than normal.

Everything was so good, though! And even though we had 25 for dinner at the in-laws, it was a very enjoyable evening!

I had a great thanksgiving, it was the first time that my immediate family out here in Vanouver were able to go to Ontario and spend it with my extended family even though it was under bad cirumstances. Anyway in total 22 people were there and we had Turkey, ham, mashed potatoes with sour cream and chives with bread crumb topping, baked squash with apple sauce, variety of veggies, stuffing and cranberry sauce. For desert home made pumpkin pie and mocha chocolate pecan pie with homemade whip cream

    And of course booze
