I just walked out and went and bought pizza for myself. When I got back 2 hours later (I really took my time), they managed to finish cooking the rest of the lasagna themselves. (which wasn't hard cause I had already done all the hard work)

I have gone straight to my room and locked the door. I can't be bothered talking to them tonight. Things have to change or I will move out probably with my aunty and her 3 kids. That is my only option at this stage.

Could be a plan darl. Charge aunty for babysitting duties, natch, and become some strict macrobiotic vegan fruitarian weirdo to get around the cooking problem. Weren't you planning to leave Qld and sample the good life in NSW/Vic???

Oh God (sorry to non Aussies who won't get this) on Burt Newton's Family Feud tonite they asked "What is a world famous Australian tourist attraction" and the contestant/moron answered "Tasmania" LOLOLOL "and the people surveyed said" (Eeehhh Uhhhh sound) "0"

I can't go anywhere at present (interstate etc) due to my funds being eaten up with this place. (yep even sharing is costing me)

My aunty wants me there with her (same state) so I might seriously think about going. Flatting with people you don't know is for the birds!

Flatting is good provided everyone respects each other. I spent many years doing it and had a ball but we knew the rules. If you have somewhere else to go then I'd seriously consider it darl. Sounds like you are the token doormat where you are at the moment.

^^I know I hear ya. They did try and apolygise but I am so over it now.
Thanks for your advice. I think I will head off to bed as I am still smarting over my burnt wrist.

Going to my aunty's tomorrow so will have a good talk to her about it. I don't want to burden anyone though espectially someone with three kids. But your right I know she will need a babysitter at times! And I don't mind watching kids espectially for family. At least all the kids appreciate my cooking!

I'm sure you won't be a burden if you pay your way and do as much as you can to help around the house. It only gets tricky if you become a bludger just because you are 'family' and you're not going to do that.

Voodoo Child, if you get more roommates, make sure the rules are fair and enforced. I lived with roommates for years, it takes a while to figure it out, but it can be rewarding. A*O is giving you good advice, she always does...

My hubby can cook very well, his Mom taught him when he was little, and when I got him, he had already been raising two kids by himself for 8 years. He was already trained, Thank God, but I still do most of the cooking...

Um... his classic is a tin of heinz tomato soup mixed with pasta and fried mushrooms.

So to ask the answer again. 'Can the SO cook?'

    Nope.

I'm single now, but my ex (that I was with almost eight years) pretty much did all the cooking. He wasn't a gourmet chef by any means, but his range and abilities far surpassed my poor little pastas and omelettes.
