Late to the party here but we always did New England Clam bakes over the fire. Use heavy duty foil. Put a piece of chicken, a few slices of bacon, sliced onion, cubed potatoes and small carrots, salt and pepper. Cook until chicken is cooked through. Then add clams, reseal packet and let steam until clams open. The chicken, bacon and clams make an amazing juice so have lots of bread for dipping. In the winter I make this in a big pan in the oven.
