It's absolutely torture. I feel sick whenever I hear the words 'foie gras.'
Unfortunately, it has a reputation as a luxurious, elegant food that lazy chefs jump to to 'class' up their dishes, like truffles. I've never tasted it, and don't care to. It doesn't matter what it tastes like, I wouldn't ever support that industry.
