Default Suggestions for dinner on the sofa

You're having people over for a movie and they are allowed to eat while watching. Usually it will be at the table, but we've got three movies to view.

What would you serve? I thought of something in a bowl, like a stew? Nothing that requires a knife.

I do know I'll serve pita bread so there aren't any crumbs.

    Help please!

I'd do a chilli con carne - millions of recipes out there. Pita is a great idea.

Or sandwiches, already sliced in triangles with a bowl of clam choder or stew. Dessert-berries in cream/cool whip. 2 bowls,1 small plate. Popcorn?

I'm allergic to chili. Can't even cook beans in the house.

I like the idea of tiny sandwiches with a stew. Berries and whip cream sound great.

Popcorn? And have their greasy fingers on my sofa?

Pretzels. MAYBE. I'm searching for a chicken w/veg stew. Does everyone like clam chowder? Like Campbells?

Chowder (at least a cream-based one) is very bad news for the lactose intolerant. You don't want to be hearing (or otherwise sensing) people's gastric distress if you have to watch three movies in close quarters.

Anything can aggrevate some people. No biggie-just ask them if they can have it.

Now I'm thinking penne with pesto and tomato sauces on the side. Easy. Still taking suggestions, lol.

Strawberries, whip cream and my all time fave cookies
    Piroulines.

    and I'm serving White Russians.

I once ate a whole can of those cookies in one night. They seemed so innocent at first. Now I know how seductive and evil they really are.

This sounds pretty classy. I know me, and I'd probably go for delivered pizza and beer.

Sure, one at time. They are light and wafery. And then you see that there are just three sticks left in the can.

That's why I asked. I always do pizza except for Sophia Loren night where I made lasagna. (White Russians cause we're watching The Big Lebowski).

Hell yeah. Dinner is for dinner parties. Pizza is for movies. Then some Ben & Jerry's icecream. Cholesterol Rules!

Debbie downer here on the pizza. It's cold outside and the pizza never arrives hot and I hate reheated pizza.

It'll be penne pasta. Thank you all for your suggestions. Now I just need to get off my lazy ass.

Toe sandwiches??!! I wonder if there's a toe candy mold out there in this world.

I could have made these and broken off the pinky toe.

I love it when a hostess serves pasta. To me, it's the ultimate comfort food. I could never give up carbohydrates.
