Default What's your poison? Sweet or Savoury

Savoury for me. I like chocolate, cake, etc but can honestly take it or leave it. But if there's a fresh loaf of bread or a chunk of fantastic cheese or a tub of fresh olives in the house I will DEVOUR them. I NEVER order a sweet dessert in a restaurant, and I know many people for whom that is the most important course of the evening. I've asked my friends and everyone falls into the Sweet or Savoury category (more or less). Let's see if this applies to you too?

Savory all the way. I love cake and things like that, but I'd take real "food" over sweets anytime.

I'm resisting the urge to finish off the lo mein that's in the fridge right now!

I fall in the sweet category most. Growing up my mother wouldn't keep sweets in the house and only allowed things with refined sugar on special occasions. I would almost send myself into a sugar coma on Thanksgiving and Christmas. Over this past Christmas we had a Red Velvet cake and I probably ate a fourth of it by myself.

Savoury without a doubt. I will eat sweets if they are given to me or are in front of me. But I wouldn't go out of my way to by them. For snacks I would much rather have crisps or pistachio nuts than a chocolate bar. I love cup a soups, cheese, toast and marmite etc. I've always been that way, so is my Dad, maybe thats where I get it from. He hates cake - me too.

As for the deserts in restaurants, again - I never order them whilst my friends get so excited. I'd much rather enjoy the main meal.

Savory. I could snack all day on pretzels or popcorn if I wanted to. I can only eat 2 or 3 little pieces of candy (like hershey kisses) before I can't handle any more sweetness.

Savoury all the way. Anything salty, sour or spicy gets my vote. Cheese first, but also chips, nuts, olives, pickles, chutney, Mexican, Indian food and Thai food with its wonderful mixtures of sweet, sour, salty and spicy.

I prefer to drink my dessert -- I'll have an extra glass of wine in lieu of something sickly sweet. The only desserts I like tend to be tart and fruit-based.

I read somewhere that women, especially young women, overwhelmingly choose savoury over sweet, but I can't find it at the moment.

Another savory here. I rarely crave sweets for a snack. Usually overly-sweet items give me massive headaches anyway. Fresh baked bread, like AO said, any kind of cracker, leftover meats, buttery noodles or rice and spices...mmmm I'm getting hungry....

I'm a Libra, so I like them both! It depends on my mood, which one I prefer.

This is very interesting - most of you are Savoury gals. I wonder if people lose their 'sweet tooth' as they get older? I was in a local cafe the other day and saw another On The Fence With WickedHo person. She ordered a HUGE plate of bacon, eggs, tomato etc - enough to sink a battleship. And THEN she had an equally huge plate of pancakes and fresh berries with gallons of maple syrup and fresh cream. Groan. And she was NOT overweight (not for long, bitch LOL).

^^^hmmmmm...did she stroll into the bathroom to 'freshen up' after her meal? I always get suspicious when I see stuff like that.

Sheesh I never thought of that. She was a 'respectable' looking woman in her 40's but I know that does not mean anything.

I'm the same as Wicked Ho and we're both libra's; imagine that.

However I lean more toward savory most of the time. It really depends on the time of the month, I swear to god I can set the date of the calendar by what i'm craving. Okay not quite but almost.

Sweet AND savoury, we Tauruses enjoy earthly pleasures too much to make a choice

It depends on my mood, it can be chocolate, olive bread, yogurt, pickles, anything. My dad nicknames me "the vacuum cleaner".

    Sweet

But if I'm very hungry I go for savoury first!
