    Default I'll have the lettuce salad

    Have you ever bought a salad from somewhere and the entire thing was basically lettuce? Tonight I got a chicken caesar salad and I kid you not, there are 5 strips of chicken. If if i can count the strips, I'm thinking thats a poor salad. So ridiculous! I could have just gone to my fridge, got some lettuce and stuck it in a bowl.

    Sometimes I make a salad purposely out of just lettuce. I like it. But I agree that if I bought a salad, I'd expect it to have other good stuff or else i woulda just made it at home.

    I love to take a basic lettuce salad mix(lettuce with a bit of cut up strips of carrots, cabbage, etc.) and add it to mashed potatoes!. SOOOO good!

    It's happened a few times. I make it a point to never eat at that place again.

    if i want just lettuce, i order a green salad, but if you're expecting something else, and they put 90% lettuce in there, then it's a rip-off.
    i especially hate it when they do that and it's all iceberg lettuce. i love lettuce, i can have up to 5 or 6 different lettuces and salad greens in my fridge at one time, but i fucking hate iceberg lettuce. it sucks.

    I love salad so much! And prefer it to have a lot of lettuce/spinach. I am not a big meat eater, so I don't typically get a chicken or steak salad.

    However, I do like 'lots of stuff in it' like Elaine from Seinfeld. When I order the BIG SALAD and don't get lots of stuff in it, THEN I'm pissed.

    I've NEVER done that - and it sounds ... interesting. I'm going to give it a shot tonight. Do you toss in some Ranch dressing?

    Yuck. Iceberg lettuce is like eating water. I'd feel ripped off if I ordered a salad with meat on it and there is hardly any meat.

    That's why I never get them. If I want chicken, I order wings, breast, etc. The real rip off is vegetarian pasta. Noodles = $1.15 for and ENTIRE PACKAGE
    Vegetables x3 = $2.50 at most

    Total = $3.65

    Average cost of vegetarian pasta dish (CAD)? $12.99

    Actually, for me, the more lettuce the better. It just sucks when you have to pay $9 for a salad at a restaurant when all you want is the lettuce. I've been known to ask for cheese and dressing on the side and not eat it.

    I get pissed when I order a salad and there are no veggies on it. I feel every salad should at least have cucumbers and tomatoes. I cannot find one place in our town that still adds cucumbers to the salads, it annoys the hell out of me.
