All about chocolate: the good, the bad, the ugly
What's yer poison? I like the super dark, cocoa-rich chocolate, which is even supposed to be good for you in moderation. I especially love it with sour fruit and/or melted on vanilla ice cream. Yum.
My hubby thinks it's an aphrodisiac? Do you? Examples welcome!

I'm not sure if it is really an aphrodisiac but I do think there is such a thing as chocoholism.
I like hazelnut chocolate, you know the hedgehog ones from Brussel Chocolate.

A spa where I live offers chocolate treatments such as a chocolate blizzard scrub, chocolate manicure and pedicure and a chocolate and whipped cream relaxing massage. Has anyone ever had one of these? And you get to eat and drink chocolate while all of this is going on!
I may ask for one, or all of the above, for Christmas.

Mmmmmmmmm...chocolate spa treatments. I'm in heaven.
There's a shop in my town with a French candy maker there. I could live on his handmade rich chocolates. I started out many years ago not particular about what type chocolate I had, now I only really love the gourmet stuff, the darker the better.

Once you get used to the really good stuff, there's no going back.

Exactly! Well, except the time when I was about 7 and I bit into my mother's baking chocolate and was unpleasantly surprised (BITTER!!!!)
I have cheap taste: Dove Dark Chocolate Promises. My best friend and I give each other bags of them for Christmas, it's a delicious tradition. They gotta be dark, though.

I had something possibly similar to a chocolate blizzard scrub, but it was a chocolate coffee one. I didn't really want it, I hate smelling like dessert food. But if was a gift from my brother's GF so I felt like I had to do it. It wasn't the best scrub I've gotten; for that I recommend the oak leaf treatment at the Russian/Turkish Baths.

Another good thing about chocolate even extends to the garden: cocoa shells! They make a great mulch! You can buy a 3 cubic foot bag for about 6 bucks-great to use in outside potted plants or in flower beds near a patio, porch or deck. After watering or a nice rain on a warm summer night the smell is intoxicating!!!

Re: All about chocolate: the good, the bad, the ugly
dark chocolate freak here. i'm a purist. i need a high cocoa content (minimum 70%), and i like my choc plain, no fancy fillings, liqueur, fruit, nuts or anything.
the only exceptions are cafe-tasse's wonderful dark chocolate with fresh ginger bits (douple aphrodisiac there), and villars dark chocolate with whole almonds, and the dark chocolate with candied orange rinds.
i live in switzerland, so needless to say, chocolate is everywhere. and there are loads of confiserie places that make the most wonderful, artisanal chocolate ever. i'm spoiled.

You wouldn't say that if you'd ever eaten the crap that sells as chocolate in Communist countries. I've had chocolates in the former Yugoslavia, East Germany and USSR, tasted more like chalk or other weird things than chocolate.
