I just bought a rosemary "tree" this past weekend. It is shaped to look like a christmas tree. OH the smell is wonderful and I snipped a few sprigs off to use when I baked chicken for Sunday dinner.
So right now my favorite spice/herb is rosemary followed very closely by my all time favorite Garlic.

I usually like to spice up white fish with cilantro or lemon pepper.

I'm in love with crushed red pepper flakes. I put them on just about everything.

Everyone should try growing their own herbs. It's fun to have fresh ones right there. Rosemary smells amazing. I used to have a huge thing of it growing on my patio, and I'd just pull sprigs off when I needed them. I also grew mint, basil and sage. They're all pretty easy to grow in a little window planter or a patio.

I had a pot of corsican mint that smelled amazing... very sweet. It's great in hot chocolate.

I am totally a spice person, I simply cannot cook without spices! I have a rack with all sorts of spices above the stove, and I use most of them on a faily basis. My favourites are garlic powder, black pepper, chilli powder and cayenne, lemon pepper, oregano, thyme, some kind of curry powder, basil and paprica. Those are the most common ones for me... I have others which I use on certain dishes, like rosemary- that one I usually find hard to combine with others, as it has a very intense, specific flavour. I dont think olive oil counts, but Ill still mention that I use it in ALL my dishes, every single time. I never cook with butter or margarine.
