Worst new food trend/product
What new food trend do you despise the most? I hate anything that's marketed as healthy and low-fat when it isn't like granola bars and salad piled with dressing.

Ew, totally. They have this nasty fat and calorie free line like salad dressing, dessert topping etc. I bet it's so chock full of crap that if you left it out in your garage, no bug would go near it.

Re: Worst new food trend/product
My sister has a friend who is a chemist and she said you're better off eating a little of the real thing, or sticking to olive oil and lemon juice or vinegar than ingesting all that chemical crap. Plus, a lot of fat free foods have a LOT of sugar in them.

Re: Worst new food trend/product
I don't like the push to "combo" or super-size orders. There have been times I've ordered something & a diet drink, only to succumb to the pressure of getting a combo because it's more of a value. This morning I paid more for a breakfast burrito & a drink than I would have paid for the same thing plus tater tots. The point is, people end up eating more than they would have.
That said, I do think that the individual is ultimately responsible for what s/he puts in his/her mouth.

I don't drink soda, or pop, as we call it here, but I am amazed at how huge drinks are these days. I would pee like a racehorse if I even drank half of one of them.
