Your favourite cooking show/host
I don't have a single favourite, and I haven't watched them all by a long shot. Nigella Lawson is refreshingly honest and relaxed in Nigella Bites, and there's a Canadian show, The Surreal Gourmet, that's pretty quirky. Dolce Vita is great too becase the host, David Rocco, combines cooking with the Italian countryside. The Barefoot Contessa is good, too.

Re: Your favourite cooking show/host
Well I love Nigella... her show is very relaxing to watch, and she's so pretty.
I know some people can't stand Rachael Ray, but I love her show. Sandra Lee is a little Stepford Wife-ish, but I love the set she has and I love shortcut cooking.
I know someone who's friends with a friend of Paula Deen's (lol), and from what I'm told, she's just as sweet as she seems on her show.
I love all cooking shows. I find them soothing. It all stems back to The Frugal Gourmet when I was little.
I know you didn't ask, but... I can't stand Bobby Flay... he can't even hide what a jerk he is when he's on tv... it oozes out. Emeril gets on my nerves these days, too.

AAAAUUGGH. You hit a nerve. The BF watches the Food Network all the time so I loathe this channel. If I had to pick, though, I like that new guy that does the Sugar Rush show. It was cool to see how they made orchids from dough - so realistic!

Re: Your favourite cooking show/host
I like Nigella, although I would describe her as a cook rather than a chef. I like the way she just kinda chucks stuff together without getting all precious about exact quantities, brands. etc. I have all Nigella's cookbooks and have tried lots of the recipes and none of them has been a dud so far. Hell, they even come out looking like the picture in the book! Jamie Oliver has the same informal style and comes up with some great ideas for unusual combinations without being pretentious and acting like a prima donna.

I don't get to watch often, but I LOVE Alton Brown in Good Eats. He's entertaining and I learn a lot from him.

OH, I forgot about Alton! He's probably my favorite, but I guess I don't consider his a "cooking show". It's educational and funny.

The new yound guy David Leiberman, is cool, I realyl enjoy his show. Yes I love Racheal Ray, Giada, Barefoot Contessa, Bobby Flay, and many others. That Sandra Lee woman freaks me out, I have never watched her show, as soon as I see her I change the channel, she is a freak, certainly Stepfordish, christ, almost robotic.

I like Bare-fat Contessa, too, but Sandra Lee freaks me out. I watch the show just to marvel at how scary she is. I like it best with the sound down because she has that annoying way of accenting some of her syllables like she is talking to idiotic children. Plus, her food is full of fat and crap, because she starts everything with some prepared crap and a stick of butter or cream cheese. And if I have to view another "tablescape" I may hurl.

PBS has a few good cooking shows. I love to watch reruns of Julia Childs and Jacques Pepin. There's also Lydia's Italian Kitchen that's pretty good.

I like "Everyday Italian" with Giada. I've gotten some really good recipes from that show. I watch all of them if I like what they're going to make. Barefoot Contessa makes good stuff but she bothers me sometimes so I don't watch her that much.

Nigella's show is FOOD PORN. I like her Domestic Goddess cookbook, though.

Oh EW, he looks retarded. He does ads for Sainsbury's here in the UK and his giant oversized tongue is always lurking there, just waiting to gross me out.
