Red face I am clogged up -- help me w/my menu please

I just got in from a trip where the only food to eat was steak and burgers. Angus, strip steak, steak tips, fillet de dead cow... Help me, my colon is screaming in pain. What can I eat for the next week or two to get a little more *ahem* streamlined? Anyone have some marvy soup and bran recipes?

I usually just eat a healthy bowl of raisin bran and everything starts moving the way it's supposed to.

Drink a TON of water and if you can, try Activia yogurt. It works WONDERS for me! Also, lots of cruciferous veggies (i.e. broccoli, cabbage, cauliflower) and greens. Apples work very well too. Good luck..been there, done that. NO fun!

A boring bowl of Allbran with yogurt/milk and some fresh fruit should do the trick. Prunes are excellent. I also find soy and linseed bread really gets things moving along.

I love soy and linseed bread too. Also a glass of warm water with honey and fresh lemon helps.

Thanks guys! I can't tell you how much I'm looking forward to eating right and actually going to the gym. I'm not going to eat steak for a year, I swear.

Good luck Dean! If all else fails, pretend you're 65 and hit Rite-Aid for a bottle of some good old-fashioned stool softener

Go get about five sugar free Russell Stovers candies and scarf them down. Anything rife with sugar alcohols does the trick for me when I'm having those issues.

Prunes, prunes, prunes. That's what they gave me after I had my first kid and didn't, erm, move my bowels for five days. A few hours later, I was sitting pretty (ugly) on the toilet.

How are the lower pipes, Dean??

I agree, coffee and prunes are your best bet Although I have had great success with a mix of flax seed and psyllium husks mixed in fruit juice.

Usually, taco bell or KFC especially, does the trick nicely. Also drink some strong coffee, and take up jogging if you don't already. There's something about running that seems to speed up the waste removal process.

you guys are great, lol, all systems are go. I went out and bought some All-Bran and drank tons of coffee and water, lots of fruit and veggies, and the only protein I ate was skinless chicken breast.

I wouldnt go for the Raisin Bran since its full of poison like high fructose corn syrup and actually isnt healthy at all. you can choose a natural raisin bran. id say add veggies to lunch and dinner. oatmeal, green tea.
